Meet the Team

Sally Bratton

Sally has 25 years' experience in PR and communications, with IT, property and media/marketing her core areas of specialisation.

Starting out at media-focused PR agency Propeller, working on clients including ITV, LBC and Exchange & Mart, Sally moved to EMAP Computing in 1996, where she was PR manager for their Apple Expo and CAD/CAM exhibitions. Marketing agency Fox Parrack Hirsch was the next stop and here she was Account Director for Kodak (digital cameras), Wipro (UK launch) and Hughes Network Systems (DirecPC), among others.

Turning freelance in 1999, to give more flexibility (and time, supposedly!) after her son Owen was born, Sally has continued to work on a wide range of technology clients, helping her to build strong relationships and respect among hi-tech media. Specific campaigns include the repositioning of Canon Europe from a camera and photocopier group to an IT solutions provider; guerilla marketing for Sony Ericsson to increase market share in the mobile internet sector and editorial profiles in key media for the CMO of T-Mobile, to improve positioning in the wi-fi arena.

Reflecting the media frenzy surrounding property prices and the market as a whole - and a personal interest in this fascinating topic - Sally has become increasingly focused on the property sector over the past few years, representing Monteverdi Estates, Prime Property Solutions and Kensington Home Technology, to name but a few. With good press contacts in place, the number of clients in this space is set to grow further still.

In response to a dramatic increase in client activity during 2005, Sally set up Bratton PR to cater for demand via the support of experienced, trusted and like-minded freelancers. While still being the main point of contact, Sally has ensured Bratton PR is a competitive and dynamic agency by servicing clients with a full team of effective and focused staff.

Sally's main strength is understanding each client's business objectives and evolving with them - and genuinely caring about the success of their company.

Claire Smith

Claire has over six years of PR experience working with clients in the wireless, IT soft and hardware, motoring and consumer technology sectors. Her down-to-earth skills and wide experience ranges from media liaison, assisting with and the implementation and coordination of pan-European PR campaigns, event liaison, research, as well as client and team management.

But, her real passion is the media, liaising with national and regional press and various vertical media - i.e. mobile, telecoms, new media, photographic, marketing and IT press on a regular basis - as well as speaking to the technology and business/management correspondents on the tabloids and UK and European broadsheets.

Claire's vast client experience ranges from Canon Europe, Symbian, elata, Volantis and napster to The Post Office, Yell, TeleCity, Virata, Pilkington Glass and the DaimlerChrysler group. Her favourite chocolate is a large packet of Cadbury's Buttons and she loves her scrummy son William!

Sara Kernahan

Bratton PR's senior marketing consultant Sara Kernahan originally hails from the north of England, although she has spent a large proportion of her professional life working and living on the Spanish mainland. As a consequence Sara is fluent in Spanish.

After being responsible for revenue development for Thomson Holidays in Northern Spain and successfully implementing various marketing strategies, she consistently ensured substantial contributions from Thomson Holidays' most prolific territory. Sara returned to the UK in 2003 and settled in North London.

She followed her passion in tourism and broadened her experience in this sector whilst revenue manager in Accor's flagship property the Novotel in Hammersmith - and more recently as Partnership Sales Manager for the Regional Tourist Board, Visit London.

Sara began her freelance career representing software development company Catgames, focusing on online marketing solutions. Here her talent lies in database marketing, lead generation, online advertising and developing creative sponsorship packages.

With nine years marketing experience, Sara is well-versed in all elements of the broad spectrum of marketing including business development, reporting, data capture, strategic planning, e-mail and direct marketing.

When not pursuing her passion of tennis, Sara can be found absorbed in one of the many travel publications planning her next vacation!
